About the Designer: Sarah Martin Bemrich
These gems have life in them:
their colors speak, say what words fail of.
~ George Eliot
An elegant presentation - whether fun or trendy - exemplifies Sarah Martin Bemrich’s jewelry
designs. Inspired by detail, texture, and design, the stones and colors speak to her, compelling her
exceptional pieces to essentially design themselves. She calls her one-of-a-kind chandelier
necklaces her signature work.
Self-taught since 1996, Sarah has always loved jewelry. She received her first turquoise ring at
age five and has been drawn to colorful and bold jewelry ever since. Drawing upon her training in
the visual arts, including art lessons since kindergarten and a Commercial Art degree/Art History
minor (not to mention a double degree in Biology and English Literature), Sarah has developed a
unique style drawing inspiration from impressionist artists and French masters into her over 400
pieces to date. She typically names her personal adornment treasures after family and friends but
her latest designs are named after the vivid colors and images of her native East Texas. She is also
inspired by modern designers such as Ann King, David Yurman, Dian Malouf, John Hardy, Stephen
Dweck, Michael Dawkins, Judith Ripka, and Tiffany and Co.
Sarah prefers to work with genuine stones: freshwater pearls, coral, amazonite, and semi-precious
stones from all over the world. Her favorite stones are turquoise, rock crystal, faceted
rock crystal, quartz, lapis, and all shades of blue topaz. Sarah says, “If it makes me hungry to look
at it, I know I have a perfect color combination.” She gravitates towards creations using her signature
black, white, and turquoise color scheme using unique natural stones complemented with
only the best and heaviest sterling silver findings. If it sparkles, has facets, or is rich with color, an
unusual finding becomes a part of the design.
Sarah creates unique pieces for weddings, debuts, special occasions, babies, and men. Her work has become quite popular at the Edmund
Craig Gallery in Ft. Worth and her custom designs are also available at Weddings on the Boulevard
in Ft. Worth and at the YO Ranch Resort Hotel in Kerrville, Texas.
